HOW TO MAINTAIN A SWING?
The beautiful days are back! Your children have new fun outdoors. The swing is one of their favourite games. Whether in public spaces or in your garden, it deserves a good maintenance in order to give your children its best performance! So how do you properly maintain a swing, whether it is made of wood or metal?

Step 1
CHECK THE CONDITION OF THE FIXINGS AND SEATS
For a good maintenance of the swing, you must check that the fixings and the bases are in good condition. So first check that they are not damaged, rusted or broken. If so, try to repair them or replace them by asking your dealer. Once the condition of the fixings and bases has been checked, you can proceed to their maintenance.

LUBRICATE THE FIXINGS AND AXES OF THE SWING
To protect and lubricate the most delicate parts of the swing, we recommend the use of WD-40 SPECIALIST® Long-Lasting Spray Grease. Its formula provides long-lasting lubrication that does not run and adhere perfectly to the support. We advise you to use it twice a year: once before winter to protect the structure from rust and cold. A second time at the beginning of spring to give it a little boost before the children use it again.

MAINTAINING A WOODEN SWING
For a wooden swing, you will have to pay particular attention to the maintenance of the structure in order to protect it from bad weather (wind, rain, cold, heat). For this, we advise you to apply a protective and insulating layer, especially before winter. The most suitable product remains the stain. Although an expensive product, it remains one of the most efficient. First sand the wooden structure to eliminate the first effects of time and make it smooth again. Then follow the instructions for use of the stain. Using a brush, apply the product to the entire structure. Let it dry for a day or two and you’re done!
Step 4
MAINTAINING A METAL SWING
For metal swings, the maintenance is different. In fact, in this case, it will be necessary to prevent the appearance of rust on the structure. To do this, we recommend that you apply an anti-corrosion product to the entire structure before winter. You probably doubt it: what other better ally than the WD-40® Multi Use Product to fulfil this task? Indeed, its anti-corrosion properties have been proven! The film formed by the product provides protection against water, humidity and their corrosive effects in the most extreme conditions. This action is durable and preventive. Using a cloth, apply the product to the entire structure that supports the swing.
